For the prototypes' cover plates I used
.8mm brass
1mm Aluminium
1.5mm Copper
These combs are made of
olive wood (suitable)
ebony (suitable)
river red gum (eucalyptus) (does not really do well)
aluminium
The shape of the future instruments available will be a synthesis of the aluminium and brass types.
I'm not able to say by now which materials will work for the later serial production. My aim is to offer at least .8mm brass, gold- or chrome plated and .35mm stainless steel as used by Hohner and Seydel.
